Europe is gearing up for a massive increase in renewable energy by 2050.

As society shifts towards greater electrification, power networks are undergoing major upgrades to support this transition. And that requires power cables – a lot of them!

At NKT, we have made it our purpose to connect a greener world by delivering the power cable technology essential for the green transition. In this decade, we are investing around 1.5 bn Euros to expand our production and installation capacities and capabilities, covering medium voltage all the way to the highest voltage levels. The investment spans across six sites and includes the construction of a brand-new cable laying vessel.

But our commitment does not stop there. We are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and are striving to become a net-zero emissions company. As the first major power cable manufacturer to join the Science Based Target initiative, we are setting ambitious goals. Our vision is clear: to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. In the shorter term, by 2030, we aim to reduce 90% of our scope 1 and 2 emissions, compared to 2019 levels.

Join us on our journey towards connecting a greener world.
